In my opinion house prices in US have a long way to go before they hit the bottom. With all the bailouts (read: money printing) interest rates are bound to go significantly higher in not too distant future, which will further erode housing affordability.

"Renting vs. buying"

Good comparision. I always prefer for buying rather than renting. You can take a home loan and give the installment per month (like you are giving rental) and at the end of the day, you would be the owner of your house.

I agree that watching your credit is key. I feel that the millennium-generation only just learning how important credit is.

Christian raises a great point about watching your credit. If the capital markets tighten, it could be hard to get money. You will need better credit during this time.

Due to a downward shift in the market and decline in the economy, I have recently started paying great attention my credit. I wanted to be sure it is in top notch condition if I needed it. I’m glad that I did too because after looking into my credit I was stumped to find numerous issues on my report that did not belong to me.

Getting into debt is easy but getting out of it really a difficult task. This holds good for any kind of debt and includes credit card debt too. Credit card debt reduction needs planning and discipline in the way you spend money.

Something else that should most likely be noted in this article would be credit. I don't think there has ever been a time when credit was more important. Due to a downward shift in the market and decline in the economy, I have recently started paying great attention my credit. I wanted to be sure it is in top notch condition if I needed it. I'm glad that I did too because after looking into my credit I was stumped to find numerous issues on my report that did not belong to me. They had been reported on my credit report by a collection agency that, in my opinion, was just looking to make a quick buck. I decided to do some research on the collection agency and found a ton of information on them. I was even able to find information on the web that stated this particular collection agency was known for trying to collect debt that did not belong to them. I would highly recommend that all consumers stay on top of their credit reports and... If you find that collection agencies are reporting negative marks on your report, look them up on this site before moving forward. You'll be happy that you did.
