Macroeconomics Rap: “Fear the Boom and Bust” a Hayek vs. Keynes Rap Anthem

In Fear the Boom and Bust, John Maynard Keynes and F. A. Hayek, two of the great economists of the 20th century, come back to life to attend an economics conference on the economic crisis. Before the conference begins, and at the insistence of Lord Keynes, they go out for a night on the town and sing about why there’s a “boom and bust” cycle in modern economies and why we have a good reason to fear it. Corrolation to the spot price depends on the combination of trade in the futures, options, or stock of companies in or related to the commodity. Also depends on whether it is a ETF or an ETN.

This should not matter to you if you do your homework and pick some good ones by watching out for ongoing maintenance fees and expenses while keeping an eye out for performance.

ETF’s are better for tax reasons (no end of year cap gain distributions). They also generally have lower expense ratios (at least the indexed ones) which puts more money in your pocket over time.

I am sure any textbook comes with a companion website that has lots of resources. Usually it includes power point lecture slides that can be downloaded, quizzes, activities, extended reading material, concept demonstration apps etc.

I agree somewhat that the Austrian are to blame for their own perception, but only to a degree. The fact that Austrians speak to the dangers of government intervention into the economy also drives the political class to endlessly denigrate the school of thought.

Fun and educational, not two words I typically use about a rap video. I especially enjoyed seeing my buddy, Prof. Mike Munger, as the limo driver.
